April 22, 2006 SoCalCup Long Beach Report From US500 We were excited to see a couple of Nor Cal guys, Gary Peer and John Stienstra, show up for our 4/22 Long Beach race. Unfortunately not enough wind showed up for them. It was cloudy and very up and down with the wind ranging between 10-15 knots, but we were happy to have a sailable day. Devon agreed to be our rabbit but even with the extra tack he was at the weather mark waiting for some company before going downwind, and in all races he was at the finish well ahead of the rest. Peter B took second in all races except the last which went to Gabor who passed Peter on the downwind after rounding the weather mark just behind him and forced Peter to jibe in an effort to get clear air. We hope John and Gary will come down and race with us again and hopefully we will have more wind for them next time. Joe R
