The 'Three Berkeley Musketeers' bring home the awards from Texas Our very own Steve Sylvester, Mike Zajicek, and Mike Percey, rounded out the top five (behind Devon Boulon, and Phil McGain who finished 1st and 2nd) at the 2005 Velocity Games/U.S. Open in Texas. A link to the results page has been posted in the "Sched. & Results" page. Velocity Games 05 Detailed Results Report by Mike Percey The ‘Velocity Games’ is always my favorite event of the year: warm water, great racing, good food, super attitudes by all, (skaters excluded :-) ) The turn out was light this year due to the conflicting events, leaving us mortals to split up a $10,000 pot. Boo Hoo! Racing started out average 9 knots and ended in19-23 knots, standard for this event. Devon Boulon, (F2 & Windwing) was flawless in all conditions, taking first in 11 of 12 Races, falling clear down to 2nd, in the other, after a major fall. Phil McGain, (Starboard & Maui sails) a solid 2nd, but not without trouble from the Bay Boyz. S3 = Alien (ML & North Sails) was an absolute monster, holding onto 3rd solidly from start to finish. ML (ML & Pryde) & VYV (Windwing & ML) butted to the end for 4th & 5th positions. John Jay Ernst (F2 & Gaastra) out of Houston had a good showing, mixing it up with us during almost every race! Came in 6th. It's worth the travel time! Put it on your calendar, it always happens over Memorial Weekend.
